How to Play
Musical Poker combines music knowledge with poker-style strategy. Here's everything you need to start playing.
What Is Musical Poker?
Musical Poker is an interactive music guessing game where players use clues — song titles, artists, or categories — to predict tracks as they reveal over time.
Each round you're dealt two cards: a poker card and a music card. Your music card determines what you need to match and how many points you score if you do. Your poker card is your safety net — it breaks ties and decides the winner when nobody matches.
Start with hidden information (Preflop), then hear short audio clips: 2 seconds, 5 seconds, 10 seconds, and up to 30 seconds. The earlier you correctly identify the track, the higher you score.
Your Two Cards
Every round, each player is dealt one poker card and one music card. You hold both for the entire round.
Your music card is your primary weapon — if the song matches, you score. Your poker cardonly matters when it's close.

The Five Reveal Phases
Each round unfolds across five phases — like the streets in Texas Hold'em. More audio is revealed each phase. You can lock in your answer at any point, but waiting longer reduces your scoring potential.
- 0🃏 Preflop
Song category, decade, and mood clues only. Bet blind.
- 1🎵 Flop
First 2 seconds of audio.
- 2🎶 Turn
5 seconds — intro taking shape.
- 3🎸 River
10 seconds — chorus likely revealed. Flip your cards, scores are calculated.
How a Round Is Won
- 1
Music card match wins outright
If your music card matches the song, you score 1–5 points based on card type. Highest points wins.
- 2
Tie? Poker card decides
When two players score equal music points, the player with the higher poker card wins. Ace is highest.
- 3
Nobody matches? Poker card wins
If no player's music card matches the song at all, the highest poker card takes the round.
